First, Soul the Interrogator is the first artists to sign with Soundmind Artists back in 2007 when it began. It was something that was suggested by the founder of End of Earth Records based in Northern California. We started out as a subsidiary of that label. Soul's first project "Prawdukt" was initially released on End of Earth and Soundmind Artists in 2008. It was recorded at Momentum Studio in Portland Oregon with Zebulon Dak of Oldominion, Sonny Bonoho and myself. Beats were used from various producers around the Puget Sound. If you haven't listened to that, I highly suggest you do. The difference between the two projects will be severely apparent. While Prawdukt boasted a widely accessible sound, IMpervious bares an entirely different sound. In my opinion, it is a little better than Prawdukt, simply because the production had stepped up as did his recordings in general. Soundmind Studio finished off IMpervious and was highly instrumental in making this project happen. The release party is yet to come, although the album is available online for purchase already. The party is October 15th, 2016 @ 9PM at The High Dive in Fremont, WA Hit up Soul for tickets and any booking inquiries at soultheinterrogator@gmail.com

Come out, if you can.

Prawphit On Point is an artist that has been associated with several individuals in the label's history. He's been around for nearly everything that's happened since our beginning. He had recorded on his own for his first two releases. Army of One and 2nd Wind. Both are available through Soundmind Artists online now. His most recent release was entirely recorded at Soundmind Studio except for two track which were recorded at Yaddah Da King Studio. TH3RD DEGREE is his greatest release yet and is deserving of a solid review by any ear within the "know" of it. Most of the journey of recording was pretty well documented on Prawphit On Point's Facebook page. If you search for him, I'm pretty certain he's the only one that comes up. Add him and check his page out along with all of the exclusives he posts! The thing that stands out the most about Prawphit is his love for ministry and spreading the Gospel throughout his demographic. If you would like to have him come out and bless your church or event with his huge heart and passion for the lost, give him an email. His email address is prawphitonpoint@gmail.com

If you'd like to hear for yourself what Soundmind Artists has been up to and listen to exclusive content WAY before it's released, check out the S.P.I.T. #RADIO PODCAST!!!

Random Thoughts and Ideas

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND IDEAS

This may be added to in the future,

since I don't do facebook and twitter anymore...

So, I've been messing around on this app called triller. There is an on board music library one can lip sync to in their videos... It's actually a REALLY fun app that I'd recommend to virtually anyone. But, I've been noticing that the selections of "featured" songs, or in my guess 'popular' songs, are even more comical and elementary/stupid than ever before! I mean seriously! This is so stupid!!! It's like some rich kid got up with someone that had pro-tools and a casio keyboard for Christmas and was trying to figure them out. Why are these songs becoming so popular? Page One and I were talking in the studio last night along with Doulos the Verbose about "Mumble Rap" and how prevalent it's become lately. They are literally saying the first thing that comes to their minds and there's some junk that doesn't even make any sense whatsoever. It literally makes me so angry that I don't want to write about it anymore. I realized last night that if some no name punk kid can make something (musically) then there is no logical reason why I can't... So, I wrote this:

Look at these rookies
makin' moves like they're vetted,
Downloads embedded,
to the oldschool they're endebted

Never giving credit
To what made them what they are,
Way too preoccupied with
becoming a star.

Bought a starter kit?
Cool. Open up the box.
Understand that it's content
won't be what makes you "hot."

Beastin' on the mic,
Is what keeps the passion movin'
A Big Shot is just a little shot
that kept on shootin'

I can say anything on this track
That I wanna.
What can I say to make a difference
In ya?

I'm everything that you need,
I'm everything that you need,
To prove to us His point,
He died on a tree.

He didn't say a word,
To defend his position,
Humble and direct,
He accomplished His mission,

He died so you could live,
He gave so you could give,
There's no greater work
Than that of which He did.

I can never seem to shake,
The need to stay awake,
If I die in my sleep,
I pray my soul the Lord will take.

More than insurance,
From burning in the flames,
There is no greater power,
Than the power of Jesus' name.

I'm here to lift Him up,
and to make His name famous,
His love for us is perfect,
How could anyone blame us?

I trust Him with my life,
Because He gave His life for me,
I will follow where He leads,
Even if I cannot see.

He knows what I need,
and He takes care of me.
His Holy Spirit is my comfort,
and my best therapy!

I should start a record label, or become a rapper, or make beats or something, shouldn't I?
